1. How do you envision using art in your classroom?
- I hope to be a great deal more comfortable with art in my classroom, going beyond simple "art projects." I desire to bring learning naturally through the integration of arts, blending art and other disciples seamlessly.
- Honestly, I know very little about what integrated looks like or how to build upon it. The theory is strongly appealing to me but I do not know how to put it into practice.

- I would rate myself as a 1 in making art. I have never felt strong in the discipline, and my talents seem very limited. Coloring between the lines is great. Beyond that, I feel inadequate.

- I would rate myself as a 2 in analyzing art. Although I do not have much more confidence in this, I do feel I can appreciate art somewhat more than actually creating art. Those who cannot do, appreciate!

1. How do you envision using art in your classroom?
- I envision myself being mindful of integrating art in my lesson plans, no matter what discipline (math, science, literature, etc.). I hope to develop big ideas, connecting big picture concepts with specific studies of the water cycle, storytelling, and fractions. Visual representation of learned information and connections made will be my primary focus in using art in my classroom.
- Integration can be done no matter what topic or theme. There is always a way to make new connections to diverse ideas. Integrated learning can have vastly different appearances and can cover multiple disciples, such as science, art, AND music. There is no need for "this OR that" but rather "that AND this." In the beginning, integration seemed impossible and extremely time consuming, but over time, I have become more comfortable with it and with more practice, integration is coming with more ease.

- I would rate myself as a 4 in making art. Although I do not feel extremely skilled artistically, I have definitely gained confidence in my ability. The finished work may not be aesthetically perfect, but the meaning behind the piece and connections made because of the art make me feel more like an artist.
Uneasy 1 2 3 4 5 Comfortable
- I would rate myself as a 5 in analyzing and talking about art. VTS has made a huge impact on me as a student and as a future teacher. Knowing that each viewer can see something different is liberating, and discussing these diverse perspectives gives way to a whole new means of talking about art.
